Congratulations to the membership of

Applegrove Co-op in Hamilton

The Members of Applegrove needed a new kids park. Money was tight, so a committee was struck to investigate ways and means of obtaining funding. Enter the Trillium Foundation and Let Them Kids Organization.

At the end of the day $78,000 was made available to Applegrove to build their dream playground,.... the catch,... it had to be done by volunteers,.... in one day!

Saturday, August 28, that dream was realized, they built their playground.

Named the Maddison Babineau Memorial Park after a Hamilton teenage victim of cancer, the park occupies the centre of the co-op and will become a meeting place where families can meet and enjoy their surroundings.

Chris Charlton MP and Hamilton Councillor Tom Jackson were on hand to officially unveil a plaque at the end of the day’s labour. Maddison’s mother cut the ceremonial ribbon and the kids raced for their new equipment.
